Traditional Christmas Pudding Recipe

I hope you enjoy my Christmas Pudding recipe. Serve it warm with whipped cream, custard or brandy butter. An old tradition but a favourite of ours.


8oz/225g Butter or Margarine,
8oz/225g Brown Sugar
7oz/200g plain flour
12oz/350g currants
8oz/225g raisins
6oz/170g sultanas
2oz/55g mixed peel
2oz/55g cherries
1 oz/25g ground almonds
6oz/170g fresh breadcrumbs
grated lemon rind
grated rind and juice orange
level tsp nutmeg and cinnamon]
heaped tsp allspice
2 large eggs
1/2 cup Guinness
4 tblsp whiskey and brandy or rum (spiced rum is best, you could even add all 3 :-))

Mix all ingredients as per video and add to oven proof bowl and boil for up to 6 hours. I use a slow cooker, check out the video for instructions. Enjoy
